BIKE AND BUS provides local, regional, and national information about merchants/individuals involved in supporting a better, greener clean world.

Why Bike and Bus?

Americans need to start understanding that they’re not second-class citizens if they ride the bus. Nor are they a public nuisance on a highway if they’re on a bicycle. Far from it, they are world-class citizens and should be rewarded with a discount at the cash register. If a business is willing to offer a discount to senior citizens, then why not to shoppers who use clean transportation as well? How much are businesses spending maintaining their parking lots? And how much are downtown merchants losing because of congestion and lack of parking? Imagine a world downtown free of congestion and pollution from cars. Imagine no parking meters! Imagine…all the people…walking, riding the bus and cycling to the businesses of their choice and earning rewards back. That is the world of BNB! The downtowns of America no longer need to feel non-competitive with the chain-store malls. It has become more expensive to drive to the malls outside of town than shopping locally on Main St. And far less pleasant!

We all need to participate in this movement for change. It’s so healthy! And FUN! EVERYONE who rides a bike to work seems to FEEL better for it and be a more productive and positive colleague in the work place. Don’t feel that riding the bus is a nuisance; it’s actually a pleasant way to meet other folks, and city transit departments everywhere are even installing free wi-fi! In all of Europe, mass-transit has allowed citizens to live car-free for generations. It is time for us to follow suit and finally divorce the american love-affair with the automobile. Start Bike and Busing your way to a car-free future. And start saving money and increasing your health while you’re at it!

Remember, HEALTH IS YOUR BIGGEST WEALTH! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to change the world we live in. Live free or drive!

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving along.
